Caressed by the trade winds Muri Beachcomber's two and a half acre property (1 hectare), lies in the southeast of the island of Rarotonga, on the shores of Muri Beach. Muri Beach itself is well known for its beautiful lagoon, which is studded with small Islands. Just 10km (6 miles) from the town of Avarua, Muri Beachcomber is a select, owner operated accommodation comprising of 22 self contained units, with a selection of 4 distinctive unit types including our family friendly Garden Units and couple friendly Seaview Units and Watergarden Villas. 7 restaurants /cafes are within easy walking distance and 12 on-site BBQ's mean that guests are able to take advantage of the self contained aspect and BBQ under the stars or stroll to a nearby restaurant to enjoy a superb choice of fine dining or budget cuisine. Situated right on Muri beach, guests are able to take advantage of the superb snorkeling sites, safe swimming, scattered islands for exploring, great kayaking and all the watersports that Rarotonga has to offer. 2005 - Pool refurbished and gardens relandscaped 2006 - All indoor and outdoor furniture replaced 2007 - Full replacement of all bathrooms (ongoing)

Seaview Units Units are 1 bedroom units situated on the shores of Muri Lagoon - all units enjoy views of the lagoon. With a spacious living area and well equipped kitchen, the Seaview Units are perfect for couples. A home away from home the Seaview units are the perfect choice for those wanting to soak up the peaceful atmosphere of Muri Beachcomber.


Garden Units
The Garden Units are located poolside, amidst luxuriant tropical gardens - perfect for relaxing on the verandah while supervising the children in the pool. Children under 12 years are welcome in these units which are designed for a maximum of 4 persons. These units are configured with a separate bedroom and a further 2 beds in the lounge area. Designed for family situations there is a large covered deck with BBQ adjacent. Cot and High Chair available on request (no charge).


Watergarden Villas
The Watergarden Villas are 1 bedroom villas situated beside their own private lily pond. Just a 30 second stroll to the beach. With a spacious living area and well equipped kitchen, the Watergarden Villas are perfect for honeymooners or those just wanting some privacy and seclusion. Honeymooners receive a complimentary upgrade from a Seaview Unit to a Watergarden Villa..


Family Garden Unit
The Family Garden Unit is a spacious 2 bedroom unit located beside the pool and situated above the office. With 2 air conditioned bedrooms, a large living area and an extremely well equipped kitchen, the Family Garden Unit is ideal for larger or extended families. A complete home away from home.


Amenities

Telephones: For Seaview, Garden and Family Garden Units guests there is a Guest Phone available for local and international calls. The Watergarden Villas have an IDD phone in the room. Fax facilities are available at the office. Guest Lounge: This lounge is available to arriving and departing guests who wish for somewhere comfortable to relax before checking in or out. There is access to a shower and toilet plus tea and coffee making facilities. Swimming Pool: A salt water swimming pool is located near the Garden Units. Rental Scooters: We have 100cc/fully automatic scooters available for NZ$25.00 per day - you are required to get a Drivers License from the local Police Station. Petanque / Bocce Ball: A petanque court is located beside the stream. Laundry: Coin operated laundry facilities (washer/dryer) are available in the Guest Laundry located beside the stream. BBQ's: The Family Garden Unit and each villa have their own BBQ and another 9 are located around the property and are free for all guests to use. Snorkeling: Masks and fins are available from the office Free of Charge. Kayaks: Double and single kayaks are available Free of Charge for Muri Beachcomber guests. Lagoon Swimming: The lagoon in front of Muri Beachcomber is sandy and safe for all ages.

The Cook Islands has a very relaxed policy that allows international citizens to marry legally, only requiring the couple to reside for three (3) full days (not including the day of the application) in Rarotonga, before the ceremony. Muri Beachcomber offers the following Wedding package.
