Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel is exactly that! We are located on a beautiful stretch of white sand beach bordered by a clean and clear turquoise lagoon, on Rarotonga's scenic southern coast. All our rooms are ABSOLUTE beachfront.

We are in an area known as Titikaveka - a village steeped in history and which is known in folklore as the 'tail of the fish' in the vaka of Takitumu! The historical limestone church is only a short walk away and on Sunday this fills with the local congregation of all ages celebrating their faith. Beautiful melodic voices fill the air as they sing their praises in both the English and Maori languages. Visitors are warmly welcomed and are often treated to light refreshment after the service. The people of Titikaveka are gracious, convivial people who are more than happy to help out should you need assistance and ready with a friendly smile and wave as you pass by.

The Maire Nui Café & Gardens is just around the corner from the hotel offering seven acres of tropical gardens. The Café serves organic salads, breads, cakes and muffins whch are freshly made each day. All this accompanied by award winning wines and fresh local Espresso Coffee from the island of Atiu. The café is open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

The famous 'Fruits of Rarotonga' is a short 10minute walk along the beach from the hotel. Here you can purchase some of the tasty homemade bottled Paw paw, mango and banana chutneys and jams - ideal as accompaniments to many dishes and great with cheese and crackers!

Several local shops stocking a basic range of goods are within easy strolling distance. The main township of Avarua is 15km away on the northern side of Rarotonga. This is easily accessible by car, scooter or taxi or by the local bus which circles the island on a regular basis, both clockwise and anticlockwise and stops directly outside Moana Sands foyer.

The Rarotonga International Airport is a 20 minute ride away from the hotel.

Moana Sands has 12 Beachfront Superior Rooms on the ground and second floor and 5 roomy Beachfront Suites on the top floor of the hotel.

The 12 Beachfront Superior Rooms and 5 Beachfront Suites each offer fantastic views of the sparkling blue lagoon and the white sand beach is literally just steps from your door. All of our guest rooms and suites are self-contained with a small kitchenette with light cooking facilities and are air-conditioned for your comfort.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Couples need to be in the Cook Islands for just 3 working days prior to the wedding to obtain their Marriage Licence. Couples require birth certificates and passports, plus divorce papers and death certificate of spouse if applicable. All documents must be in English or translated into English.

What better way to start your married life together than strolling hand in hand along a romantic stretch of idyllic white sand beach overlooking the sparkling pristine waters of a crystal clear lagoon. 

Here couples can really get to know one another relaxing on their private patio or balcony as the lagoon gently laps at the shore and the rolling surf breaks on the reef beyond. Honeymooners at Moana Sands will enjoy a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine as well as daily tropical breakfast, refreshing fruit juice and fruit basket on arrival.
