From each Villa you have a spectacular view overlooking the
turquoise lagoon and the ocean. Hardwood floors, exposed timbers,
teak furniture and local art create a very exclusive and romantic
atmosphere.
We greet you at the Airport and transfers are complimentary.
A complimentary breakfast is served at the pool side, and our
staff is very helpful in recommending great restaurants and Island
Nights.
We look forward to making your dream holiday a remarkable one. |
Villas
The Villas are generously
spaced for privacy on a 1.5-acre property that is wide at
the beach narrowing at the roadside so no building is
obstructing your view. Each Villa features thatched roofs,
large covered verandas, hardwood floors, teak furniture,
natural stone counters, and marble tiled bathrooms with a
louvered door opening unto your own private garden with
outdoor shower. All windows and doors are screened. The
sliding wood louvred doors offer maximum privacy leaving
good airflow.
Each Villa has a king size bed (facing the lagoon for the
ultimate view), ceiling fan, air conditioning, clock radio,
phone (international calls), and flat screen satellite
television with in house movies. The fully equipped kitchen
has a granite counter, gas burner cook top, and a separate
purified drinking water tap.
A wonderful atmosphere at the pool as it is secluded and
private surrounded by volcanic rocks and garden. From one
side there is a beautiful mountain view with swaying palm
trees, and on the other, a mesmerizing view of the lagoon
with waves crashing on the coral reef. The pool deck is
furnished with teak loungers and tables and chairs where you
can enjoy your complimentary breakfast or refreshments at
the self-serve 'Honesty Bar'.
We offer complimentary kayaks, snorkel gear and bicycles
(push bikes). A small fee applies for laundry and Internet
service. Cars and motorbike rentals are available on request
and can be arranged to be delivered to you. Airport
transfers are included. |

Activities
| Aitutaki
- the most beautiful island in the world |
Aitutaki is one of the largest atolls in the Cook Islands
measuring approximately 18kms wide by 19kms long. This
volcanic atoll is made up of rolling hills, flat coastal
plains and a large clear turquoise lagoon enclosed with a
surf-topped coral reef and tiny sandy cay islets (motus).
Aitutaki has many roads crossing the Island, which provides
endless opportunities to explore the many remote villages
and plantations. It is a fact that it rains less here then
Rarotonga and the climate is warmer. Around Aitutaki, the
roads are very quiet so you can safely bike, drive or walk.
Meet the friendly local Aitutakians and let them share their
history and heritage with you. You won't find any friendlier
people who love to smile and wave at you, and who will leave
you remembering them forever. It is fascinating to learn
their culture, watch their dance in action (Island night),
listen to their singing, and view their local art. You may
choose to take a guided tour of the interior and visit the
ancient sacred sites (Marae), historical landmarks,
religious village, and the World War II track.
If you are adventurous, you could go hunting in the evening
for the land crab and enjoy the feast. If you like to trek
there are some wonderful trails over the rolling hills and
there is a fantastic birds eye view of the island and the
lagoon at the highest point of the Island called Maunga Pu.
At the summit you are rewarded with a panoramic view of the
Island, the blue lagoon and the many offshore islands that
fringe the coral reef. Good place for a picnic. |
| |
| The
Lagoon |
Aitutaki's huge protected lagoon is
decidedly one of the prettiest in the world. You must
snorkel and see what the big attraction is about. Although,
even if you choose not to snorkel, you can swim amongst and
hand feed schools of colourful butterfly fish in the crystal
blue water of the lagoon.
Take a cruise around the lagoon and stop over at the many
offshore islands or motus. Or paddle your way around in a
kayak and do the exploring yourself. Visit as many of the
uninhabited islands as you please. For short lagoon
excursions take a water taxi to the many snorkelling spots
on the inner reef. But to truly enjoy and appreciate this
great aquatic wonderland, take a full day lagoon cruise with
the various options and styles of boats offered.
All the operators offer a different experience. A full day
lagoon cruise includes visits to motus including One Foot
Island, snorkelling and BBQ lunch. Towels and snorkelling
gear are provided. A half-day tour is offered as well,
including a champagne breakfast or a sunset tour. |
| |
| The Outer
Reef |
One of the best ways to enjoy the outer
reef of the island is to Scuba dive with Aitutaki Scuba or
with Bubbles Below..
The outer reef is still unexplored in many areas making this
an exiting dive destination. A big plus for diving in
Aitutaki is the travel time to the diving spots is no more
than 10 minutes.
The outer reef abounds with a marine life and towards the
end of the year (Oct- Dec) the great whales come to play.
There is the shipwreck of the Alexander, which sank during
the 1930's carrying a shipment of cars. |
| |
| Fishing |
Some of the best game fishing can be
experienced in Aitutaki. Again you don't have to travel too
far from the reef to catch the great Wahoo, yellow fin tuna,
Mahi-mahi or the elusive marlin.
Whether you are here to experience bone fishing (fly
fishing) or tackle fish with the local Fishing charters you
are sure to succeed. |
| |
| Ministry
of Marine Resources |
| An interesting place to visit. There are
five species of giant clams here, as well as baby sea
turtles. The research station is open weekdays and offers
tours that give an insight into some of the marine life in
the lagoon. |
| |
| Golf |
| Aitutaki Golf Club. You can rent clubs for
$10.00 and play a round of golf (18 holes) for $10.00 |
